Our newest hotel project for Rovaniemi

Arctic Hotel Collection is developing a new boutique hotel in Rovaniemi, set within a unique historical district where a spacious park environment plays a central role in the overall experience.

Arctic Hotel Collection is transforming a protected area of the old buildings of Provincial Government of Lapland and parkland into a high-quality hotel concept that respects the history of the location while bringing new energy to the city and increasing accommodation capacity in Rovaniemi.

The future hotel will be built within a nearly two-hectare park setting in the very center of the city, which is exceptionally rare in Rovaniemi. The aim is to create a year-round destination that feels both calm and connected: a place where guests can stay in a distinctive historical environment while still being within walking distance of everything.

For guests, the defining element will be the park itself. In summer, it offers greenery, flowers and a sense of calm in the middle of the city. In winter, snow, ice and lighting transform the courtyard into an atmospheric Nordic setting creating a space that invites guests to slow down and spend time, rather than simply pass through.

The buildings will retain their original exterior character, while the interiors will be carefully adapted into hotel use. The approach is not to redesign the place, but to continue its story by creating a setting that feels authentic, layered and naturally connected to its past.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. A park of this scale in the city center, combined with buildings that carry such a strong story, is an exceptional starting point for creating something truly special. We are designing the outdoor areas with pathways, places to sit and spaces to enjoy food and drinks, so that the park becomes a natural part of the guest experience."

The project timeline is currently being refined, and we will keep our partners regularly informed as progress continues and opening timelines take shape.
